Three years would have been found safe after Amber's warning from North Carolina

GASTONIA, North Carolina – A kid kidnapped in an apartment in Gastonia was found safe and the man accused of kidnapping was arrested, several media reported. An Amber alert was issued Sunday for Destiny Boykins, age 3, missing. Authorities said the girl could have gone to Charlotte with Maurice Knox, 57, after being taken to an apartment near East Hudson Boulevard and Wexford Court, authorities said.

The WSOP and WFMY said Sunday afternoon that the girl was found safe. The WSOC announced that the US Marshals had arrested Knox after an accident near Remount Road and Toomey Avenue in Charlotte.

The two men were last seen heading north from the 2000 block of East Hudson Boulevard and could head for the 2,700 block of Wingate Avenue in Charlotte.

Gastonia is about 18 miles west of Charlotte.
