The Academy of Arts and Sciences of Cinema invited 928 new members to join its ranks, 49% of the invitations being attributed to actresses and filmmakers and 38% representing people of color while the organization redoubles efforts to diversify its workforce.

New members would increase the percentage of female members of the Academy to 31% from 28% last year, while people of color will represent 16%, up from 13% last year.
