Tilda Swinton went deep into the character of her new horror film Suspiria.
The 57-year-old Oscar-winning actress is playing in her new film two roles, one of which is an 82-year-old man: the psychoanalyst Josef Klemperer, a character in which she plunged.
The film is centered on Susie Dancer (Dakota Johnson) who discovers the terrible secrets of a world-renowned dance company led by Madame Blanc (Swinton).
If the actress did not play the role of Klemperer, she and the director of the film, Luca Guadagnino, kept this information secret while filming, even creating the false identity of Lutz Ebersdorf. They credited him as the actor representing Klemperer.
It was not until she spoke to the New York Time that Swinton finally admitted that she claimed to be Ebersdorf to play Klemperer.
"The intention was never to deceive anyone," Swinton said. "The genius of [makeup artist] Despite Marc Coulier, we have always thought that the identity of Klemperer's performance would remain unresolved. "

So how did she turn so dramatically into an old man? With the help of makeup artist Coulier – who created the male prosthesis for Swinton.
"She made us do a penis and b–," said Coulier. "She had that nice and heavy genital set that allowed her to feel it swinging between her legs and she managed to set it up twice."

Regarding the rest of his complete facial transformation, Coulier said that Swinton's "slightly androgynous look" had helped somewhat, but he had always thickened his neck and jaw with prostheses.
When asked where the male genitals were kept, Coulier replied that he knew nothing about it.
"Probably in a box somewhere!" He said with a smile. "I should try to find him and put him on a plaque on the wall of my studio."
Swinton turned so completely into a man that she preferred to call "Lutz" on the set, thus taking the false identity of an actor playing a male character.

Many extras and team members on the set were unaware, said Coulier.
"They were all like" This is a famous actor, Lutz Ebersdorf? "They were going on IMDb to look for it, and there was no information," he said.
Swinton's only regret for saying goodbye to Ebersdorf was that he could not prolong the trick until the film was released. The photographs of the actress in costume appeared in March 2017.
