Mets Farmhand Tim Tebow is easily the most famous player of Double-A, and now he is an All-Star.

It was announced Friday that Tebow had made the all-star game for the Eastern League, which is one of three Double-A leagues, with the Southern League and the Texas League . Tebow currently plays for Bimghamton Rumble Ponies (a subsidiary of Mets).

The overall Tebow line is not overwhelming. He hits .261 / .335 / .398 with the league average being .251 / .325 / .389. It is therefore slightly above average on the season. It has, however, been on fire lately. In her last 21 games, Tebow has registered .323 / .353 / .462. In his last 10? .406 / .424 / .625 with nine RBIs.

On the season, Tebow has 12 doubles, one triple, five homers, 30 RBIs and 26 points in 236 appearances.

Overall, he has a good season. Just having a "good" double-A season should not pave the way for a possible MLB appearance, but let's be realistic here. The Mets are not going anywhere and with lists expanding in September, he will put extra sticks in the Citi Field seats.

For now, it's "Tim Tebow, All-Star League of the East". Come September, the smart money is on "Tim Tebow, Major League Baseball Player."
