Time 12: Internet AT & T and cable to DFW are still down

It's been 12 hours since a fire in AT & T's Dallas facility caused Internet crashes across Texas and some customers still do not have internet access and / or to the cable.

Lightning struck AT & T 's building during a storm shortly before 10 am and firefighters left around 12:15 pm.

Nobody was injured and the fire was overpowered in an electrical room, but thousands of people in North Texas begged to be relieved of their boredom.

Others who wrote about the blackout on Twitter had more serious concerns. Several people sent tweets to the company, claiming that they were business owners who depended on AT & T to function.

By 9 pm, customers were still reporting outages and it was unclear when the problem would be fully resolved. AT & T told customers on Twitter that they did not have an ETA.

"However, we are working hard to fix it," the company tweeted.

Some customers with internet and cable said around 9:30 pm. that their Internet connection worked, but that their cable was not. At approximately 9:40 pm, sporadic customers began reporting that their Internet service had returned, but their phones were still offline.

Down Detector, which monitors online businesses whose services are disrupted, has seen a clear increase in reports just before 11 am, from around 30 reports of a breakdown to more than 1,300.

On a real breakdown map, a giant red bubble hovered north of Texas, particularly in the DFW area.
