Former Minister of Public Works, Tony Anenih is dead.

according to Premium Times, He died at the age of 85 on Sunday, October 28, 2018 in a hospital in Abuja where he was undergoing treatment.

The report also states that his son confirmed the report, adding that a statement would be published soon.

Anenih was also Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOT) of People's Democratic Party (PDP).

The former minister was sometimes referred to as Mr. repair it.

Survived major cardiac surgery

In July 2018, the former chairman of PDP BOT reportedly canceled his birthday celebration because of what he described as being the sad state of Nigeria.

according to Premium Times, he said "There is no doubt that going beyond the age of 85 is a privilege enjoyed by a few; and, therefore, it is an opportunity that deserves to be celebrated with his family and friends, "said Mr. Anenih.

"On reflection, though, while remaining grateful to God for his unwavering love and sustenance that has kept me throughout the years, I am unfortunately unable to fulfill this burning desire to celebrate this event marking my family's quickly succeeded, because of my state of health and the sad state of the nation which has witnessed so many losses, bloodshed and fears.

"Nevertheless, I sincerely appreciate the efforts of the Government and some influential Nigerians to restore peace.

"I believe that through prayers and faith in God, there is hope for the restoration of peace and good neighborliness in Nigeria soon and in the years to come."

In 2016, the chapter of the PDP in Edo State dispelled rumors that He was dead.

On Sunday April 16, 2017, Anenih's wife, Patricia Anenih deceased and on May 14 of the same year he loses his son Eugene Anenih.
