Week 7 of the university football season was rich in upheavals, but several wins were won. One of the most successful teams is Michigan, which handled Wisconsin 38-13 in a perfect manner behind a devastating attack and excellent defense. The Wolverines climbed six places to seventh place, their highest ranking in the coaching survey this season.

Texas is also in the top 10, but the Longhorns needed to resist a late Baylor rally in Austin. The Longhorns, who have had a series of six consecutive victories, also make their appearance in the coaching rankings with 8th place. Texas was previously No. 14 after beating Oklahoma in Week 6 (and still three places behind the Sooners at the time).

Alabama remains the huge No. 1 team with 61 votes for first place. Ohio State and Clemson complete the top three, with the other three winning the other three. Notre Dame enters the top four thanks to Georgia's loss to LSU. The Tigers were the main winners of this week's poll, with seven places in fifth place.
