The regular season has finally arrived because it also means that fantastic football is in full swing. Fans are impatient and excited for the new campaign, but at the same time, they are worried about what they have to do with their football teams.
The quarterback was one of the most difficult positions to write this year. Mainly because a lot of big names have fallen in the last rounds in many projects. Guys like Drew Brees, Matt Ryan and Cam Newton were players who were caught late enough to do business with them.
The driving effect of this trend means that there are a lot of value shifts lying around. So, let us dive and rate the top five fantastic football quarterbacks for the first week of the NFL season.

5. Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers
Philip Rivers will be one if not the biggest surprise on the list as he prepares to face the Kansas City Chiefs at home on Sunday. Why? ESPN awarded him the 10th Global Signal Call for their Weekly QB Standings of Week 1 for the PPR Leagues.
These players are ranked 5-9? Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck and Kirk Cousins. Here's why Rivers will give you more for your money.
Luck and Watson are both injured, which means you are more inclined to see if they are healthy before throwing them into your team. Wilson has one of the worst offensive lines in the league, Stafford will face a tough secondary against the New York Jets and Cousins will work with an attack that is somewhat roughed up.
So, Rivers is essentially the safest choice. In addition, the Kansas City Chiefs have a very risky defensive situation, especially in high school if they are without Eric Berry. Rivers will be looking to go deep all day and find his receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
