Alabama is expected to be subject to heavy storms Thursday and a tornado warning has been issued for much of the state.

A tornado watch will be in effect for the counties of Colbert, Franklin, Lauderdale and Lawrence until 1 pm. Thursday.

The weather service in Birmingham announced that strong storms would be possible in central Alabama at 1400 hours. today as the line crosses the region.

Rainfall and widespread thunderstorms will spread in the region this morning, and some of them could become violent, according to the Mobile Weather Service.
