Toys R Us is dead, Amazon will mail you toy catalogs.

You will surely have tons of shopping catalogs in this holiday season, and one of them may come from Amazon. Following the demise of Toys R Us in the United States and the United Kingdom in March, the e-commerce giant has confirmed that it will send millions of toy catalogs titled "A Holiday of Play".

Like the old catalogs sent by Toys R Us, Amazon's holiday catalogs retain a simplistic aesthetic, but they also have QR codes so that customers can easily scan and display links to products. Amazon will also distribute the catalogs in its 4-star branches and bookstores.

Even though the technology giant stands out from traditional retailers like Walmart and Barnes & Noble, it still takes pages from their reading books. After the acquisition of Whole Foods last year, Amazon strengthened its physical presence by opening non-cash bookstores and convenience stores across the United States.

As we gear up for the holiday season, Amazon is also trying to boost sales by offering free shipping with no minimum purchase of $ 25 and experimenting with more convenient shipping options. But for many kids (and spirit kids) who grew up with giant toy stores, your mailbox will sadly remind them that Toys R Us is dead, and Amazon is the imminent replacement of the stores you have sought in the past.
