The film stars Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim and Jude Law.
The second trailer of Fantastic Beasts: The Grindelwald Crimes was released Tuesday.
At the end of the 2016 Fantastic beasts and where to find them, the mighty black magician Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by the Magic Congress of the United States of America with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). As a result of the Grindelwald Escape, the evil magician plans to raise wizards and witches to have full power over those who do not have magical abilities. Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) asks Newt's help to stop Grindelwald, although no one fully understands the danger that lies ahead.
Fantastic Beasts: The Grindelwald Crimes also plays Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Callum Turner and Claudia Kim. J.K. Rowling wrote the script, while David Yates returned as a director.
The new trailer takes a closer look at Grindelwald's plans to take control of the non-sorcerer world. "My brothers, my sisters, my time is running out, my dream, we who live for the truth, for love, the time has come to take our place in the world," said Grindelwald. "Join me or die."
During the voiceover, Nagini (Kim) is presented to the viewers. Nagini, who is known as a Horcrux who serves as the right snake to Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter Franchise, is presented as an interpreter in a traveling circus who has been cursed to become a snake. When Nagini encounters Credence (Miller), she will have the opportunity to escape before becoming a snake indefinitely.
"The wizarding and non-wizarding worlds have been at peace for over a century," Dumbledore told Newt. "Grindelwald wants to see this peace destroyed."
The scenes of chaotic events taking place in the streets highlight the uncomfortable and dangerous environment created by Grindelwald to end the peace between magicians and non-magicians.
After Dumbledore has asked for help from Newt, he wonders why his former teacher can not shoot Grindelwald alone. "I can not move against Grindelwald," he said. "It must be you."
"Do you know why I admire you, Newt?" Dumbledore asks later. "You are not looking for power, you are looking for reality as the thing."
After a montage of intense moments of magic used as defense mechanisms by the good and bad sides, the trailer ends when Newt forces his brother Theseus (Turner) on a chair by pointing his wand at him. "I think it could have been the best time of my life," he says.
Fantastic Beasts: The Grindelwald Crimes hits the halls on November 16th.
