Trump Addresses U.N .: We reject the ideology of globalism, we must defend sovereignty | Video

President Trump said nations must defend themselves against threats to sovereignty, not only from global governance, but from new forms of domination in his speech at the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly.

"Some in the audience also lamented Trump's remarks when he said" we reject the ideology "of globalism and criticize countries like Germany for accepting an oil pipeline with the Russia, "said the AP.

Trump denounced the choice of global governance and "dominance" over American independence. He also honored the "customs, beliefs and traditions" of the nations represented and asked that they honor only American sovereignty.

"Each of us here today is the emissary of a distinct culture, rich history and people bound by memory bonds, traditions and values that make our lands like nowhere else, "he said.

"That's why the United States will always choose independence and cooperation in global governance, control and domination," said Trump. "I respect the right of every nation in this room to pursue its own customs, beliefs and traditions. The United States will not tell you how to live, work or worship. We only ask you to honor our sovereignty in return. "

"We will never give up America's sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable world bureaucracy," Trump said later in his speech. "All over the world, responsible nations must defend themselves against threats to sovereignty, not only from global governance, but also from other new forms of coercion and domination."

Trump also said that the United States would not participate in the Global Compact on Migration.

"We recognize the right of every nation in this room to define its own immigration policy in accordance with its national interests, just as we ask other countries to respect our own right to do the same – which we do. United will not participate in the new Global Compact on Migration Migration should not be governed by an international body that is not accountable to our own citizens, "he said.

Speech by President Trump at the US General Assembly:

PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP: Madam President, Secretary-General, world leaders, ambassadors and distinguished delegates:

A year ago, I appeared before you for the first time in this great hall. I have tackled the threats that weigh on our world and have presented a vision for a better future for all humankind.

Today, I am appearing before the United Nations General Assembly to share the extraordinary progress we have made.

In less than two years, my administration has accomplished more than almost any administration in the history of our country.
America – so true. (Laughs.) I did not expect this reaction, but it's okay. (Laughter and applause.)

The US economy is booming like never before. Since my election, we have added $ 10 trillion in wealth. The stock market has reached its highest historical level and jobless claims are at their lowest level in 50 years. Unemployment among African Americans, Hispanic Americans and Americans of Asian descent has reached its lowest level ever. We added more than 4 million new jobs, including half a million jobs in the manufacturing sector.

We have adopted the largest tax cuts and reforms in American history. We have started the construction of a large border wall, and we have significantly strengthened border security.

We got record funding for our armed forces – $ 700 billion this year and $ 716 billion next year. Our army will soon be more powerful than ever.

In other words, the United States is stronger, safer and richer than it was when I took office less than two years ago.
We defend America and the American people. And we also defend the world.

This is great news for our citizens and for all peace loving peoples. We believe that when nations respect the rights of their neighbors and defend the interests of their peoples, they can work better together to achieve the blessings of security, prosperity and peace.

Each of us here today is the emissary of a distinct culture, a rich history and a people bound by memory bonds, traditions and values that make our lands like nowhere else on the planet.

That's why the United States will always choose independence and cooperation on global governance, control and domination.

I respect the right of every nation in this room to pursue its own customs, beliefs and traditions. The United States will not tell you how to live, work or worship.

We only ask you to honor our sovereignty in return.

From Warsaw to Brussels, from Tokyo to Singapore, I have had the greatest honor to represent the United States abroad. I have forged close relationships and friendships and strong partnerships with the leaders of many countries in this room, and our approach has already produced incredible changes.

With the support of many countries here today, we have engaged with North Korea to replace the specter of conflict with a bold new drive for peace.
In June, I traveled to Singapore to meet the North Korean leader, President Kim Jong Un.

We had very productive conversations and meetings, and we agreed that the two countries had an interest in pursuing the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula. Since that meeting, we have already seen a number of encouraging steps that few people could have imagined a short time ago.

Missiles and rockets are no longer flying in all directions. Nuclear tests have stopped. Some military installations are already being dismantled. Our hostages have been released. And as promised, the remains of our fallen heroes have returned home to rest on American soil.

I would like to thank President Kim for his courage and the steps he has taken, but there is still a long way to go. Sanctions will remain in place until denuclearization.

I would also like to thank the many Member States who helped us reach this moment – a moment that is actually much more important than what people would understand. much more – but also for their support and critical support that we will all need.

Special thanks to President Moon of South Korea, Prime Minister Abe of Japan and Chinese President Xi.

In the Middle East, our new approach has also allowed for great progress and very historic changes.

After my trip to Saudi Arabia last year, the Gulf countries opened a new center to target terrorist financing. They apply new sanctions, collaborate with us to identify and track terrorist networks, and take on more responsibility in the fight against terrorism and extremism in their own region.

The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar have pledged billions of dollars to help the Syrian people and Yemen. And they are pursuing multiple paths to end the terrible civil war in Yemen.

In the end, it is up to the countries of the region to decide which future they want for themselves and their children.

For this reason, the United States is working with the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jordan and Egypt to establish a regional strategic alliance to help Middle Eastern countries improve prosperity, stability and security in their region. .
Thanks to the United States Army and our partnership with many of your countries, I am pleased to announce that the bloodthirsty murderers known as the Islamic State have been driven out of the territory they held in Iraq. and in Syria. We will continue to work with friends and allies to deny radical Islamist terrorists any funding, territory or support, or any means of infiltrating our borders.

The ongoing tragedy in Syria is heartbreaking. Our common goals must be the de-escalation of the military conflict and a political solution that respects the will of the Syrian people. In this regard, we urge that the UN-led peace process be reinvigorated. But rest assured, the United States will react if chemical weapons are deployed by the Assad regime.

I congratulate the people of Jordan and other neighboring countries for hosting refugees from this very brutal civil war.

As we see in Jordan, the most compassionate policy is to place refugees as close to home as possible to facilitate their eventual return to the reconstruction process. This approach also expands limited resources to help many more people, thus increasing the impact of every dollar spent.

Any solution to the humanitarian crisis in Syria must also include a strategy to combat the brutal regime that fueled and financed it: the corrupt dictatorship in Iran.

Iran's leaders are wreaking havoc, death and destruction. They do not respect their neighbors or their borders, nor the sovereign rights of nations. Instead, the Iranian leaders are plundering the nation's resources to enrich themselves and spread chaos across the Middle East and beyond.

The Iranian people are rightly indignant at the fact that its leaders have embezzled billions of dollars from the Iranian treasury, seized precious parts of the economy and looted the people's religious endowments, all to fill their pockets and send their agents to make war. Not good.

Iran's neighbors have paid a heavy price to the region [regime’s] Agenda aggression and expansion. That is why so many countries in the Middle East have strongly supported my decision to withdraw the United States from the horrible Iranian nuclear agreement of 2015 and to re-impose nuclear sanctions.

The Iran deal was a boon to Iran's leaders. In the years following the agreement, Iran's military budget increased by almost 40%. The dictatorship used these funds to build nuclear-capable missiles, increase internal repression, finance terrorism and finance the ravages and massacres in Syria and Yemen.

The United States has launched a campaign of economic pressure to deprive the regime of the funds it needs to advance its bloody agenda. Last month, we started to impose tough nuclear sanctions that were lifted under the Iran deal. Additional sanctions will resume on November 5th and others will follow. And we are working with countries importing Iranian oil to significantly reduce their purchases.

We can not allow the world's leading sponsor of terrorism to possess the most dangerous weapons on the planet. We can not allow a regime that sings "Death to America" and threatens Israel with annihilation, to possess the means to deliver a nuclear warhead to any city on Earth. I can not do it.

We call on all nations to isolate the Iranian regime as long as its aggression continues. And we ask all nations to support the Iranian people in their struggle to recover their religious and just destiny.

This year, we have also taken another important step in the Middle East. In recognition of the sovereignty of each sovereign state, I moved the US Embassy to Israel to Jerusalem.

The United States is committed to securing the future of peace and stability in the region, including peace between Israelis and Palestinians. This goal is advanced, not hurt, recognizing the obvious facts.

The American policy of realism of principle means that we will not be held hostage by old dogmas, discredited ideologies and so-called experts who have proved their mistake over the years, time and time again. This is true not only for peace, but for prosperity.

We believe that trade must be fair and reciprocal. The United States will no longer be used.

For decades, the United States has opened its economy – the largest, by far, on Earth – with few conditions. We have allowed foreign goods from around the world to move freely across our borders.

However, other countries have not granted us fair and reciprocal access to their markets. Worse still, some countries have abused their openness to sell their products, subsidize their products, target our industries and manipulate their currencies to gain an unfair advantage over our country. As a result, our trade deficit has climbed to nearly $ 800 billion a year.

For this reason, we systematically renegotiate broken and erroneous commercial agreements.
Last month, we announced a revolutionary trade agreement between Mexico and the United States. And yesterday, I joined President Moon to announce the success of the new trade agreement between the United States and Korea. And that's just the beginning.

Many countries in this room will agree that the global trading system is in urgent need of change. For example, countries have been admitted to the World Trade Organization in violation of all the principles on which the organization is based. While the United States and many other countries abide by the rules, these countries are using government-run industrial planning and state-owned enterprises to rig the system in their favor. They are relentlessly dumping products, forcing technology transfer, and stealing intellectual property.

The United States has lost more than 3 million jobs in the manufacturing sector, nearly a quarter of jobs in the steel sector and 60,000 factories after China 's accession to the country. 39; WTO. And we have accumulated $ 13 trillion in trade deficits over the past two decades.

But these days are over. We will not tolerate such abuses anymore. We will not allow our workers to be victimized, our businesses to be deceived and our wealth sacked and transferred. America will never excuse to protect its citizens.

The United States has just announced an additional $ 200 billion tariff on Chinese-made products, for a total of $ 250 billion. I have a lot of respect and affection for my friend, President Xi, but I have made it clear that our trade imbalance is simply not acceptable. Distortions in the Chinese market and how they are treated can not be tolerated.

As my administration has shown, America will always act in our national interest.

Last year, I spoke to this body and warned that the United States Human Rights Council had become a serious embarrassment to this institution, protecting perpetrators of gross human rights violations while hitting the United States and their many friends.
Our ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has set a clear agenda for reform, but despite the warnings reported and repeated, no action has been taken.

The United States has therefore taken the only responsible decision: we have withdrawn from the Human Rights Council and we will not return until real reforms are adopted.
For similar reasons, the United States will not provide any support to the International Criminal Court. As far as America is concerned, the ICC has no jurisdiction, no legitimacy and no authority. The ICC claims almost universal jurisdiction over citizens of all countries, violating all principles of justice, fairness and due process. We will never give up American sovereignty to an unelected, unaccountable world bureaucracy.

America is ruled by Americans. We reject the ideology of globalism and we adopt the doctrine of patriotism.

Around the world, responsible nations must defend themselves against threats to sovereignty, not only from global governance, but also from other new forms of coercion and domination.

In America, we believe strongly in energy security for ourselves and our allies. We have become the largest energy producer on the planet.

The United States is ready to export our abundant and affordable supply of oil, clean coal and natural gas.

The OPEC and OPEC countries, as usual, are tearing the rest of the world apart, and I do not like that. Nobody should like that. We defend a lot of these countries for nothing, and then they take advantage of us by giving us high oil prices. Not good.

We want them to stop raising prices, we want them to start lowering prices, and they have to make a substantial contribution to military protection from now on. We will not support that – these horrible prices – much longer.

The use of a single foreign supplier can make a nation vulnerable to extortion and intimidation. That is why we congratulate European states, such as Poland, for leading the construction of a pipeline in the Baltic Sea so that countries do not depend on Russia to meet their energy needs. Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not change course immediately.

Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of foreign expansionist powers.

The official policy of our country since President Monroe is that we reject the interference of foreign nations in this hemisphere and in our own affairs. The United States has recently strengthened our laws to better control foreign investment in our country with respect to threats to national security, and we welcome cooperation with countries in this region and around the world who wish to do the same. . You must do it for your own protection.

The United States is also working with partners in Latin America to address threats to sovereignty resulting from uncontrolled migration. Tolerance to human struggles and trafficking in human beings is not human. It's a horrible thing happening, at levels that no one has ever seen before. It's very, very cruel.

Illegal immigration finances criminal networks, ruthless gangs and the circulation of deadly drugs. Illegal immigration exploits vulnerable populations, harms working citizens and creates a vicious circle of crime, violence and poverty. Only by maintaining national borders, by destroying criminal gangs, will we be able to break this cycle and establish a real foundation for prosperity.

We recognize the right of every country in this room to define its own immigration policy according to its national interests, just as we ask other countries to respect our own right to do the same – which we do. This is one of the reasons why the United States will not participate in the new Global Compact on Migration. Migration should not be governed by an international organization that does not report to our own citizens.

In the end, the only long-term solution to the migration crisis is to help people build a brighter future in their home country. Make their countries even better.

At the moment, we are witnessing a human tragedy, for example, in Venezuela. More than 2 million people have fled the anguish inflicted by Maduro's socialist regime and its Cuban sponsors.

It was not so long ago, Venezuela was one of the richest countries on the planet. Today, socialism has bankrupted the oil-rich country and pushed its people to live in abject poverty.

Virtually everywhere socialism or communism has been experienced, it has brought suffering, corruption and decline. The thirst for socialism of power leads to expansion, incursion and oppression. All the nations of the world must resist the socialism and misery they bring to all.

In this spirit, we ask the nations gathered here to join us in calling for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela. Today, we are announcing additional sanctions against the repressive regime, targeting Maduro's entourage and close advisers.

We are grateful for all the work the United Nations is doing around the world to help people improve their lives and those of their families.

The United States is by far the largest global donor of foreign aid. But few give us anything. That's why we're looking very closely at US foreign aid. This will be led by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. We will look at what works, what does not work, and whether the countries that receive our dollars and our protection also have our interests at heart.

In the future, we will only give foreign aid to those who respect us and, frankly, we are our friends. And we expect other countries to pay their fair share for the cost of their defense.

The United States is committed to making the United Nations more effective and accountable. I have said time and time again that the United Nations has unlimited potential. As part of our reform effort, I told our negotiators that the United States would not pay more than 25% of the United States peacekeeping budget. This will encourage other countries to mobilize, to get involved and to share this heavy burden.

And we are working to shift more of our funding from assessed contributions to voluntary contributions so that we can target US resources on programs with the best track record of success.

It is only when each of us does his part and his contribution that we can achieve the highest aspirations of the United States. We must seek peace without fear, hope without despair and security without excuses.

Looking around this room where so many stories took place, we think of many of us who came here to face the challenges of their country and their time. And our thoughts turn to the same question that has gone through all their speeches and resolutions, through every word and every hope. It is the question of what world we will leave to our children and what kind of country they will inherit.

The dreams that fill this room today are as diverse as those that have stood on this podium and are as varied as the countries represented here in this body. It's really something. It's really great, beautiful story.

There is India, a free society of over a billion people, which has managed to lift countless millions of people out of poverty and into the middle class.

There is Saudi Arabia, where King Salman and the Crown Prince are pursuing bold new reforms.

There is Israel proudly celebrating its 70th anniversary as a prosperous democracy in the Holy Land.

In Poland, a great people defends its independence, security and sovereignty.

Many countries pursue their own unique visions, build their own bright future and pursue their wonderful dreams of destiny, heritage and home.

The whole world is richer, humanity is better, because of this beautiful constellation of nations, each very special, each very unique and each brilliant in its part of the world.

In each of them, we see a tremendous promise of a people bound by a common past and working for a common future.

When it comes to Americans, we know what kind of future we want for ourselves. We know what kind of nation America must always be.

In America, we believe in the majesty of the freedom and dignity of the individual. We believe in self-government and the rule of law. And we value the culture that supports our freedom – a culture of strong families, deep faith and fierce independence. We celebrate our heroes, we cherish our traditions and most of all, we love our country.

Inside all the members of this great assembly today and all those who listen all over the world, there is the heart of a patriot who feels the same powerful love for your nation , the same intense loyalty to your homeland.

The passion that burns in the hearts of patriots and souls of nations has inspired reform and revolution, sacrifice and altruism, scientific breakthroughs and magnificent works of art.

Our task is not to erase it, but to kiss it. To build with it. To take advantage of his old wisdom. And find the will to make our nations bigger, our regions safer and the world a better place.

To unleash this incredible potential among our people, we must defend the foundations that make all this possible. Sovereign and independent nations are the only vehicle where freedom has ever survived, democracy has always existed or peace has always flourished. We must therefore protect our cherished sovereignty and independence first and foremost.

When we do, we will find new ways of cooperation in front of us. We will find a new passion for restoring peace in us. We will find a new purpose, a new determination and a new spirit that will flourish all around us and make this world more beautiful in which to live.

So together, let's choose a future of patriotism, prosperity and pride. Choose peace and freedom from domination and defeat. And come here to defend our peoples and their nations, forever strong, forever sovereign, forever just and forever grateful for the grace and goodness and glory of God.

Thank you. God bless you. And God bless the nations of the world.

Thank you very much. Thank you. (Applause.)
