President Donald Trump resumed Friday his attacks on reporters, calling one of them "loser", accusing another of posing a "stupid question" and defending a video shared by the attached White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who appeared to have been trafficked to cast CNN journalist Jim Acosta in a negative light.
Sanders aired the video Wednesday night after the White House announced the revocation of Acosta's press powers following a controversial press conference with the president.
"No one has tampered with it, give me a break," Trump told reporters outside the White House.
Sanders claimed that the video proved that Acosta had become aggressive with a White House intern who was trying to take a microphone. In a tweet, she said that the Trump government "will never tolerate that a journalist puts his hands on a young woman who is just trying to do her job as a trainee at the White House."
But several experts have consulted experts who have found that Sanders' video was probably faster. The effect makes the movement of Acosta's hands seem more powerful than it actually was.
"That's just dishonest reporting," said Trump about the suggestion that the video would have been changed. He added that Acosta may not have been "too horrible" for the trainee, but that he was "not nice".
The president also threatened to revoke the powers of other journalists if the press did not show more "respect".
Trump, who called Acosta "rude and terrible person" at Wednesday's press conference, again criticized the CNN star on the White House lawn on Friday, before adding April Ryan to its composition. Trump called Ryan, a correspondent for the national urban radio network, a "loser" who "does not know what he's doing."
Trump accused him of having stoked "advertising" in order to obtain "a salary increase". On Wednesday, he ordered her to sit down after she got up to ask a question.
"It's such a hostile medium," Trump said at the time, telling Ryan she had "brutally" interrupted an editor of the Daily Caller, a right-wing peripheral website.
Trump also criticized Abby Phillip of CNN for asking if his new acting Attorney General, Matthew Whittaker, would "curb" the investigation by the special advocate in Russia.
"What silly question," said the president. "What a stupid question."
He added, "But I watch you a lot. You ask a lot of stupid questions, "then turned around and left.
