Attorney General of New York State, Barbara Underwood, on Thursday opposed President Donald Trump's motion to file a lawsuit against him, his children and his charity, the Trump Foundation.
Underwood said in the filing that the "arguments in favor of Trump's removal from office are based on misrepresentations of the Attorney General's claims or are unfounded, if not."
Accused of bias against the president, Underwood wrote that the lawsuit was filed because of his alleged "illegal conduct", discovered by the bureau, and not out of animosity towards Trump.
In August, Alan Futerfas, a lawyer representing Trump, wrote in a motion to dismiss that the former Attorney General of New York, Eric Schneiderman, had been given a mission to "lead the resistance" Attack Mr. Trump whenever possible. He added that the Attorney General's Office "turned a blind eye to serious and significant allegations of professional misconduct involving the Clinton Foundation".
Futerfas wrote that the Attorney General of the day had "actively opposed" Trump's efforts to dissolve the charity.
Schneiderman opened the investigation on the foundation in 2016. After resigning in May as a result of allegations of violence against women, Underwood has completed the state's investigation, which has resulted in the lawsuit filed in June.

In his submission on Thursday, Underwood wrote that "there can be no prejudice when the grounds for the relief sought are established by the substantial and indisputable evidence presented in support of the petition".
Underwood wrote that Futerfas had misquoted her, insisting that she was talking about the work itself and that she was not opposed to Trump when she claimed that it was "the most important job she has ever done".
"In any event, if the defendants had adequately proved their partiality – a burden they are not about to fulfill – the appropriate remedy in cases of bias is the disqualification of the biased person, and not the rejection of the action, "she added.
The lawsuit filed in June against Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and the Trump Foundation alleges "a pattern of persistent illegal behavior" for more than a decade.
The lawsuit accused the foundation of engaging in unlawful political coordination with the Trump campaign, conducting multiple transactions with third parties to benefit Trump and his business interests, and to have violated the legal obligations incumbent upon such non-profit organizations in New York.
Underwood claims $ 2.8 million in restitution plus additional penalties, as well as the dissolution of the Trump Foundation under the supervision of the court. The lawsuit seeks to ban Trump from running a nonprofit organization in New York for the next decade, while instituting a one – year ban on his three eldest.
Trump has already paid more than $ 330,000 in refunds and fines, said Underwood.
Underwood also sent letters of reference to the IRS and the Federal Election Commission, identifying possible violations of federal law that agencies could investigate.
When the trial was filed for the first time, Trump tweeted that the Democrats "did everything in their power to sue me on a foundation that raised $ 18,800,000 and donated more money to charity than it did, $ 19,200,000".
"I will not settle this case!" he said.
The Trump Foundation also attacked the Attorney General's office, accusing it of making "politics at its worst". As evidence, the foundation stated that the lawsuit was made public the same day as the release of the report of the Inspector General of the Department of Justice on Hillary's e-mail inquiry Clinton.
