President Donald Trump interrupted several female journalists during a press conference on Wednesday, an event that lasted more than an hour and included several exchanges on allegations of sexual assault against him and his Supreme Court candidate Brett Kavanaugh .
A reporter, Weijia Jiang of CBS News, attempted to ask a question about the allegations against Kavanaugh, and how his personal experience with similar allegations affected his point of view. He interrupted her to describe, without proof, how there were only four or five women who had appeared against him and who were paid to do so. His monologue on the subject lasted more than a minute. When Jiang tried to finish the question, noting that Trump had not let her down, Trump said, "You've been asking the question for 10 minutes.
"You interrupted my question," Jiang replied.
"Please, sit down," Trump said.
Jiang eventually asked his question, which led Trump to say that his own experiences had affected his thinking about Kavanaugh.
Several people on Twitter have noted that a similar dynamic had occurred during an exchange with a journalist from the British Sky News organization.
