A university professor is accused of felony after committing suicide on the Nevada campus last month in what police claim to be a protest by President Donald Trump, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

Mark J. Bird, a 69-year-old sociology professor, was shot and wounded outside a bathroom at the College of Southern Nevada, where he has been teaching since 1993. He was accused of allowed and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, according to the Review-Journal.

A student saw an injured bird leave the bathroom after 8 am on August 28, before collapsing, according to a police report obtained by the Review-Journal. While the witnesses were working to calm Bird and stop the bleeding, he said he committed suicide in protest against Trump.

Inside the bathroom, the campus police found a 100 dollar bill taped to a mirror with a note saying "For the concierge". On the ground, there was a .22 caliber pistol and a worn hull shell.
