President Donald Trump gave only a brief mention on Twitter of the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, instead sending a series of messages about the Department of Justice and the FBI.
Taking social media on Tuesday morning, a day marking 17 years of deadly attacks that devastated the nation and left thousands dead, the president took a few shots at the DOJ and FBI about the investigation Russian #neverforget # 11 september.
In his tweet mentioning the anniversary of September 11, Trump shared a message from his assistant Dan Scavino Jr. that showed Trump the signing of a proclamation and said, "President Donald J. Trump signs a proclamation at his Patriot Day 2018 office "to honor the memories of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001 and all the heroes who have given their lives since that day to protect our security and freedom."

Before the September 11th tweet, Trump wrote: "We have not found anything that shows a collusion between President Trump and Russia, absolutely nothing, but we receive more and more material every day, showing the collusion between the FBI and Hillary campaign. foreign spies and Russians, incredible. The President's initial tweet about the Department of Justice sparked a series of responses that asked why the President was concerned about these issues on the anniversary of September 11, but that did not stop Trump from continuing to tweet about the subject .
Trump and his wife Melania are scheduled to attend a ceremony in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at the September 11th Memorial, marking the destruction of United Airlines Flight 93. Vice President Mike Pence is expected to speak at the Pentagon.
