WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 (Reuters) – Jordan Karem, one of Donald Trump's oldest aides, plans to leave the White House by the end of this year to return to the industry. private, announced Monday White House officials.
Karem, 37, told Trump Monday morning of his intention to leave, officials said.
Since March, Karem has been assistant to the president and director of operations of the Oval Office. He is known as the "body guy" of the president, a personal assistant who is the first White House official to have seen Trump in the morning and the last to see him at night. Nicholas Luna, the director of the trip to the White House, is probably the successor of Karem, White House officials said.
"Jordan Karem is a great guy I've known for a number of years," Trump said in a statement in response to a question from Karem. "He was with me from the beginning and I appreciate his loyalty and commitment to my administration. He did a great job working with me and my team. "
