SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Tropical storm Kirk caused power outages, severe floods in the eastern Caribbean and forced flight cancellations, officials said Friday.
Authorities in Barbados said they helped save several people from a flooded house, while schools were canceled in the neighboring islands of St. Lucia, Dominica, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Meteorologists have reported that rainfall of up to 25 centimeters (10 inches) of rain had fallen in parts of Martinique, Dominica, and Barbados while they were warning of floods sudden and landslides.
