The university football season is only halfway through, but the Heisman Trophy race seems like a loss to lose.

This man, of course, is Tua Tagovailoa. Alabama's quarterback continues to lead the weekly US TODAY Network Heisman survey. After another effective outing in a Crimson Tide crimson after Arkansas, he was named first by the 15 official Heisman voters, except one, who work for the American network TODAY. He now has 18 touchdowns for the season without an interception, and has an incredible passer-by rating of 258.40.

Oklahoma quarterback, Kyler Murray, is far behind by the second poll this week. He conceded four goals and ran for another goal while anticipating a strong comeback against Texas, but he also started an interception and lost a decisive breakaway that helped the Longhorn win the surprise victory.

Quarterback Dwayne Haskins of Ohio State is third overall and received first place after the performance after six touchdowns against Indiana. Two other quarterbacks, Will Grier, West Virginia, and Trace McSorley, Penn State, complete the top five.

Colorado receiver Laviska Shenault and running back Jonathan Taylor of Wisconsin are the only non-quarterbacks to earn mentions.
