Twin boys, 6, and 9-year-old sister at school bus stop in Rochester, Indiana

ROCHESTER, Indiana –

Texas morning morning, Indiana State Police said.

The children were hit while boarding at 4600 N State Road 25 bus in Rochester in Fulton County, police said. Rochester is 45 miles south of South Bend.

Police said the two boys were two boys and their sister. They have been identified as 6-year-old Xzavier and Mason Ingle and 9-year-old Alivia Stahl. All three were students at Mentone Elementary School.

An 11-year-old boy who suffered several broken bones was airlifted to a hospital in Fort Wayne.

The 24-year-old driver stopped at the scene and she is cooperating, police said.

The school corporation said in a statement, "Our school corporation has suffered a tragedy this morning." We have learned from three fatalities and one student seriously injured in a Fort Wayne hospital as they were hit by a vehicle while boarding their buses.

We have deployed all the counselors to meet the needs of our staff, students and parents.

We are awaiting to learn more about our family, our students and our staff. "

"Indiana State Police Sgt. Tony Slocum said," I have not seen first responders and troopers cry in a long time.
