There are benefits in life when you are Missy Elliott's "great white sister".

Mary Halsey was present Tuesday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles to attend Elliott's iconic performance of the hit song Level Up with Ciara. Both artists showed their dance moves and impressive vocals, but it was Halsey's cameo in the crowd that really inflamed the Internet.

Halsey, who has dubbed Elliott's "awesome white sister" with the rapper's approval, went viral this summer with her hilarious reprise of the 2002 hit song "Work It" of # 39; Elliott.

Elliott thanked Halsey after his performance: "Look at my Funky White Sista! Ayyyye." Elliott responded to USA TODAY's tweet, adding "I love Mary and honestly, her spirit is so beautiful and sincere."

Elliott surprised Halsey by joining her on stage during a performance given at "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in September.
