The Bermuda Maritime Operations Center confirmed that the Norwegian company Escape and Sirena had canceled their calls to Bermuda due to weather forecasts.
The Bermuda Maritime Operations Center has published: "Norwegian Escape has canceled the appeal in Bermuda next week. [Wed 12th Sept] because of the expected time.
"M / v Sirena also canceled the appeal in Bermuda [Sept 12th] because of the impending weather. "
NCL said: "The safety of our guests and crew is always our top priority. Due to hurricane Florence in the eastern Atlantic, we changed the Norwegian Escape route from New York on 9th September.
"To avoid the passage of the storm, the ship will not stop in Bermuda and will stop at Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. At this time, there is no change to scheduled departures from Boston on September 7th for Norwegian Dawn. We are keeping a close watch on the storm and will provide additional updates as soon as they are available. "
The cancellations occur as Hurricane Florence continues to swirl in the Atlantic, with the Department of National Security saying that the Emergency Measures Organization [EMO] watch the storm and plan to meet again on Monday.
