Two dead after being hit by a Christmas train in Massachusetts

WAREHAM, Mass. – CBS Boston reports that two people were hit and killed by a Christmas-themed train Saturday night in Wareham. The train is similar to a Polar Express ride that runs regularly through Wareham during the holiday season.

A scenic train from the south coast struck a man and a woman who, according to the investigators, were on the rails at the time.

"The train was a scenic train carrying many passengers at the time of impact.It was coming from Buzzards Bay.No passenger on the train was injured," said the Plymouth District Attorney's Office .

According to witnesses, hundreds of people, including children, were on board. They were forced to wait on the train for hours while police investigated.
