Two dead and 120 wounded as Typhoon Trami passes through Japan

At least two people were killed and around 120 were injured when Typhoon Trami, who is moving away from northeastern Japan on Monday, is injured.

The latest typhoon, on the 24th this season, hit western Japan around 8 pm and began moving to the capital around midnight, bringing rain and high winds, reports Efe news.

More than a thousand flights were canceled due to the typhoon nationwide and another 230 flights were canceled Monday, according to the national television channel NHK.

The Kansai International Airport in Osaka, the third busiest airport in Japan, shut down its services Sunday and resumed Monday.

The NHK said that about 410,000 homes in Tokyo and surrounding areas had been stripped of electricity due to damage to the network.

Train services were also suspended in different parts of the country as well as in the suburbs of Tokyo, but resumed Monday morning.
