Two dead in a car accident against a bus in Rock County

ROCK COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV) – Two people died after a car or bus accident in Rock County on Friday night.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's Office, the accident occurred on the East County Road west of the North KK County Road in the Township of Lima.

Investigators uncovered a gray Honda Civic driven by a Waterford Wisconsin woman who had crossed the road's axle and struck the bus from the front.

The 20-year-old driver and her passenger, a 22-year-old man from Whitewater, were seriously injured as a result of the accident and were reported dead at the scene.

Officials said the 19 passengers and the charter bus driver from Bloomington, Minnesota, had not been injured.

The Rock County Sheriff, Milton, Janesville and Milton Fire and EMS have all responded on the scene.

The Wisconsin Patrol participated in the investigation, as did the Rock County Medical Examiner's Office.

The investigation is ongoing, but no criminal or traffic charges are planned at the moment.
