Two deaths in a murder-suicide in Montgomery County; three seriously injured

Two people were shot dead and three others were seriously injured on Monday in police custody in a house in Colesville, Maryland.

Few details were immediately available and the names of the deceased were not disclosed Monday morning. Montgomery County police said the five people involved would be family members.

A police spokesman, Captain Paul Starks, said the incident appeared to be a murder-suicide. There was no danger to the public, and it was not a random incident, officials said.

Police said they received a call around 12:06 pm to report that several people had shot at a house located in block 100 of Amberleigh Drive, near the Intercounty Connector and the Interchange Connector. New Hampshire Avenue.

The two people who were killed were a 57-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman. They died on the scene, the police said.

Another person, whose police reported that a 22-year-old woman and two minors had been shot and wounded. They were taken to a trauma center and reportedly in critical condition.
