Two men died and one was arrested after a pair of unrelated shootings in Boston overnight, police said Sunday.
Kevin Williams, 21 of Dorchester, was arrested for allegedly shooting an unidentified gas station attendant in his early 60’s at the Fabian Gas Station at 528 Washington Street in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood at about 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, Boston police said in a statement. Officers were on patrol in the area when they heard the gunshots and found the victim.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he later died, police said. He was working at the gas station when shot in an apparent attempted robbery.
Williams was arrested a few minutes after his description was released, police said. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, and attempted robbery.
A few hours later, officers responded to a second shooting in the area of 18 Mildred Avenue in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood at about 2:30 a.m., Boston police. Officers arriving at the scene found a man in his early 40’s suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim, who also wasn’t identified, was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The shooting is under investigation.
