Both victims were so violently assaulted that they lost consciousness. The incident took place at 12:55 on Sunday, September 23. According to the NYPD, the suspect approached the two men in front of 540 Metropolitan Avenue and "made anti-sexual orientation statements and assaulted them". He hit the man in the face at the age of 34, knocked him out, then, according to the police, "grabbed the 29-year-old man and threw him against a tree, also rendering him unconscious ". The 34-year-old victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital with a fractured shoulder, while the 29-year-old was taken to Woodhull Hospital for a broken finger. It is unclear whether the victims and the abuser had prior contact. The attack took place at the corner of Metropolitan at 559 Lorimer. A witness took a picture of the suspect, who fled the scene, and police described the victim as the last time she was wearing a black shirt, beige trousers and black and white sneakers.
