Two planes collide in the west of Ottawa: police

According to Ottawa paramedics, one person died after two aircrafts struck west of the city on Sunday morning.

After the collision, police told CTVNews.ca that a plane had crashed into a field, but that another plane had been safely diverted to the international airport. 39; Ottawa. In a statement, a spokesman for Ottawa Paramedic Service said a person on board the shot plane was declared dead at the scene.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada stated that the aircraft that had landed at the airport had suffered only minor damage. One official said that no one aboard this plane had been injured.

The collision occurred shortly after 10 hours.

Ottawa Police Sgt. Jamie Harper could not comment on injuries or the number of people on board each aircraft.
