GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio – Two teenagers were killed in a shootout on Wednesday night that caused a confrontation with the SWAT in a house, the police said.

The 29-year-old suspect in the shooting went to the police on Thursday morning after the four-hour standoff. He was arrested on charges of aggravated murder, the police said.

A 17-year-old boy was hit in the domestic incident just before 10 pm in 4800 block of East 86th Street, said Garfield Heights Police Chief Robert Byrne. He was taken to Marymount Hospital but died as a result of his injuries.

A 19-year-old woman was also shot, Byrne said. She was taken to the MetroHealth Medical Center, but she also died of her injuries after undergoing surgery.

The two teenagers were the children of the suspect's girlfriend, according to the police. All lived at home.

Byrne said that a fight between the suspect and his girlfriend led to the shooting and confrontation. The woman was treated at MetroHealth for minor injuries.

The suspect went to the authorities at 1:38 in the morning. He was seen walking behind the house wearing blue jeans, a dark colored T-shirt, a baseball cap and a bulletproof vest. He was handcuffed and taken away in a patrol car.

Authorities did not publish the name of the man or the two people injured during the shooting.

A neighbor told cleveland.com that the shoot had taken place after a woman had fought with her boyfriend.

Neighbor Connie Allshouse said the woman had rushed home and asked Allshouse to call the police.

"Call 911, Connie, he shot my babies, he shot my babies," said Allshouse, 67, who described the woman.

SWAT members asked Allshouse and other neighbors to evacuate their homes.

Allshouse said the woman had been fighting with her boyfriend and that the woman's 17-year-old son had tried to break him. The woman told her son to run away and her 19-year-old sister would be back from work soon.

Allshouse said the woman was "always afraid" of her boyfriend.

"He always threatened her and said that he would kill them and set the house on fire," Allshouse said.

More than a dozen police cars, ambulances and fire trucks doubled the street just past midnight. Police officers from Valley View, Bedford and Solon were also on site.

East 86th Street was closed in the area. A SWAT armored vehicle arrived just before midnight.

The agents left just after 2am. They were waiting for a warrant to search the house.
