Two men were killed Friday in a partial collapse of a building located in an Amazon waste treatment center in Baltimore, in an incident caused by severe weather, confirmed Saturday an official of Amazon society.

The incident occurred in Amazon's BWI5 plant, a sorting center that opened about four years ago and is preparing packages for shipment, according to Recode. The two people who were killed were subcontractors of the company, according to WMAR, an affiliate of ABC.

The first man was found under debris and was taken to a hospital in the area where he was later declared dead from his injuries.

A second person was also killed as a result of this incident. Both people were third party contractors and not Amazon employees.

The head of the fire department of Baltimore City, Roman Clark, said a 20-meter high wall had collapsed after the storm that fell on the city, according to the Baltimore Sun. The national meteorological service confirmed Saturday that the damage caused by the storm in the city was caused by an EF-1 tornado.

Brandon McBride, an employee who was working on-site at the time of the incident, told WBAL, affiliated with CNN, that he was standing inside the building when he and an employee of the The installation suddenly "heard these loud noises". The site was still active on Saturday afternoon and a spokeswoman for Amazon told the newspaper that the building had been closed. Amazon has not reported any other injuries.
