Ty Montgomery fumbled the kickoff after the Rams had gone up 29-27 with 2 minutes, 5 seconds to play.
That's because Montgomery, the Packers' backup running back, was supposed to take a knee.
"The plan there is to stay in the end zone," coach Packers Mike McCarthy said. "… But that's what those games are coming down to."

Montgomery declined to talk to reporters after the game.

"Yeah, very disappointed," Rodgers said when asked for his reaction to not getting the ball back. "That game did not lose the game, but it definitely took away an opportunity for us to go down and win it."
Although Montgomery has experience as a return man, he's not the Packers' primary kick returner. That would have been Trevor Davis, but with a hamstring injury.
Davis is eligible to return if the Packers want to use one of their two spots on it.
The Packers once again has a kickoff in the day after a fumble in loss. It was in 2013 when they dumped receiver Jeremy Ross after a fumbled kickoff.
