UCLA quarterback Devon Modster is in the process of transferring, he announced on Twitter on Friday.
Modster, who debuted UCLA's last two games in 2017 after Josh Rosen's injury, appeared in a game for the Bruins 0-3 this season, but left after a game.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Modster escaped in 2016 and played five games last fall, going 671 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions.
He competed for the starting job with new coach Chip Kelly, who accompanied Wilton Speight in Michigan's first transfer match, and then rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson after Speight's injury.
Kelly said shortly before the season that Speight, Thompson-Robinson and Modster were singled out in a six-man competition.

The departure of Modster arrives the same week as Thompson-Robinson's father criticized Kelly in a series of tweets, writing Sunday that the Bruins coach is a $ 1 million coach [sic] no responsibility "for the winless start of the team.
