The co-main event scheduled for UFC 228 on Saturday night in Dallas was to allow Valentina Shevchenko to take on the challenge of the women's flyweight championship against first-place winner Nicco Montano. Late Friday night, the plot got even thicker. UFC President Dana White announced that Montano was stripped of her women's flyweight championship after the events of the day. With the title now vacant, Shevchenko will eventually be beaten against an opponent who will be determined.
