Conor McGregor caused a sensation throughout the first press conference to promote UFC 229.
McGregor, lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and UFC President Dana White are scheduled to appear Thursday at Radio City Music Hall in New York. The promotion said the event, which will include a face-to-face, closed to the public and invited fans to a party in Times Square.
The following rules have never been McGregor's strength, which is why it is not surprising that the former division champion tweeted to its 7.2 million followers, "the press conference will be open to the public".
The admission cost of McGregor? A bottle of his brand new Proper No. Twelve whiskey. Two bottles bring you to the foreground. McGregor said that his entourage would take steps to ensure access under this condition, despite the wishes of the UFC (via Twitter).
The ticket of entry is a bottle of @PropreWhiskey.
2 bottles and you pass the Q up.
My soldiers will be outside making sure this rule is strictly followed.
Radio City Hall. UFC 229 Press Conference.
It's probably nothing more than a savvy marketing move from McGregor to sell his Irish whiskey. However, it will be interesting to see how a crowd forms outside Radio City Music Hall to enter. The UFC may want to consider enhancing security.
UFC 229 will be held on October 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will air in the following session on the preliminaries on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.
