LAS VEGAS – It's time! After two years of absence from mixed martial arts, Conor McGregor will face Khabib Nurmagomedov, lightweight champion, who remains undefeated at the main UFC event 229 in the T-Mobile Arena. . McGregor is getting back to work for the UFC looking to win back the lightweight championship that he has never officially lost but that he has seen undressing. Nurmagomedov is one of the most dangerous fighters in the world and a person who has attracted the wrath of McGregor lately. Tour 1: McGregor and Khabib immediately went to the rug and Khabib quickly pushed McGregor into the cage for a grounding while keeping his legs tight. Khabib then pushed McGregor back against the cage four minutes before the end of the round. The champion controlled McGregor from there with a number of important rights to hit the reclining challenger. Tour 4: Once again, McGregor started to hit Khabib, who soon made a takedown and succeeded. Khabib quickly closed McGregor's head, cut off his breath and forced a tap. Khabib immediately shouted at McGregor 's face, jumped from the octagon and attacked someone in the crowd. One of Khabib's teammates punched McGregor in the octagon after the fight and he turned around. The UFC immediately cut to a broad shot of the arena. Winner: Nurmagomedov via submission
In main action, Tony Ferguson eliminated Anthony Pettis after Pettis broke his hand at the end of the second round. Ferguson immediately called McGregor after the fight. UFC 229 started at 8 pm ET with preliminary fights before the main card went up to 22 hours. Khabib and McGregor plan to start fighting around 12:45, as one of the most anticipated fights in MMA history is in Sin City.
