The event is held at CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. The map is broadcast on FS1 after the preliminaries on UFC Fight Pass.
In the main event, former heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos (18-5 MMA, 12-4 UFC) meets the former WSOF champion Blagoy Ivanov (16-1-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC). In addition, Sage Northcutt (10-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) faces Zak Ottow (16-5 MMA, 3-2 UFC) at welterweight, and former title challenger Chad Mendes (17-4 MMA) , 8-4 UFC) return from a two-year suspension to fight Myles Jury featherweight (17-2 MMA, 8-2 UFC).

Round 1 – Garcia leads from a kick and receives a good counter from De La Rosa. Garcia is swinging again – no reaction this time. He's just a little short with his shots, and De La Rosa is waiting for the right opportunity. De La Rosa closes and draws a quartet of punches. Garcia uses kicks to keep the distance. De La Rosa still has not let go. He finally leaves a kick, and Garcia responds with his own combination. Capoiera breath of Garcia. De La Rosa charges with a right and misses. Good body kick, and De La Rosa grabs the leg. Garcia uses his free leg for one knee. Garcia climbs De La Rosa, who turns him around and throws him to the carpet as if it 's been a sack of flour. Garcia blitzes with punches and locks a clinch against the cage. Lateral La Rosa drops Garcia on the carpet. Garcia tries a gogoplata setup, but De La Rosa is too experienced for that. Grind and hammer from the top, and Garcia lets go of a body triangle. De La Rosa is taken briefly in a shallow armbar, and once more, De La Rosa turns it around and throws it. De La Rosa goes on the offensive, landing great punches and a body kick. Garcia punches the body after De La Rosa has it on the counter. MMAjunkie marks the first frame 10-9 for De La Rosa.

Round 1 – Touch of gloves, and we are going. Esquibel circling cautiously. Aguilar etiquette with a punch when she enters the scope. Tent-up attempt on the next approach. Esquibel's scale, but Aguilar pushes again to clinch and hit the cage. Esquibel turns her around and tries to escape, and Aguilar keeps his grip and pushes to the other side of the fence. Attempt of a single leg, and Esquibel draws a warning for a closing seizure. Aguilar briefly puts Esquibel on the carpet. Esquibel posts and arms and returns to his feet. Knees of "Jag", and another takedown. Esquibel will not concede the position and will rise again, turning Aguilar on the fence. Midpoint of the turn. Aguilar works the knees. Esquibel does not do much. Finally, a pair of knees, and Esquibel comes off. Short suit for Esquibel. They negotiate load combinations, and Aguilar tries to follow with one knee. Esquibel marks the body, then climbs the stairs. Nice knee of Aguilar. They clash with kicks. Esquibel lowering his head very low and exploding combinations. Aguilar does the same thing and ends up with a heavy right hand. Aguilar just a little more effective and efficient in the opening, that MMAjunkie gives him 10-9
Round 2 – Esquibel again with the head down, stalking for combinations. Aguilar misses on the counter, but his next try is good. Esquibel still fires bursts of fists while she charges. Aguilar thinks of changing level, then pushes Esquibel with his fists. Aguilar goes on the offensive, then tries one knee when Esquibel gets closer. Another pair of punches land for Aguilar. Esquibel thwarts well and is caught briefly in hand-to-hand combat. Aguilar trying to set up a knee nearby. Esquibel continues to hunt with fists; she goes back to the body and then to the floor. Aguilar recoils for most of the charges, or hides. Midway point of the frame. Aguilar ducks under the blows and fires of a knee that is good. Esquibel goes to the body, and Aguilar searches for that knee again. Esquibel lands a nice straight line when Aguilar arrives with his hands down. Esquibel moves back from one charge, then another. Esquibel having more success overall this round. Give and take a fee. Aguilar lands another good knee in one suit, then another. Esquibel shoots and pushes action in hand-to-hand combat. Aguilar pulls his knees with his back against the cage, and the time runs out. MMAjunkie marks the picture 10-9 for Aguilar, and that is 20-18
Round 3 – They trade jabs, then straight. Combine combinations of punches from front to back. Aguilar again looks for the knee in the form of Esquibel flakes. Aguilar trying to keep Esquibel at bay with a jab, but Esquibel continues to close and combo. Aguilar repels Esquibel with a shot, then goes on with a combo before trying to push in the clinch. Esquibel goes around in circles and adopts the same approach. Very definite motive that neither of the two fighters broke. Aguilar is just kneeling Esquibel combos. She knocks in the body, then catches one leg and pushes to the fence. Knees, and Esquibel comes off. Aguilar will not let her escape, but Esquibel turns her against the fence. Knees of the two. Esquibel pulls one knee and bursts. Short suits nearby, and Aguilar again with the knee. They both landed with their hands straight. Teep repels Aguilar. Difficult combination and both scores. Exchange of good hands on many occasions. Aguilar with a hard knee to the head. Esquibel will not shut up, and plunges for disassembly. Aguilar sees him and pushes into the body-to-body. Esquibel frames a knee and then stands out. They are trading fast and hard at the end of the frame. MMAjunkie marks the 10-9 image for Esquibel, and Aguilar should get it 29-28. Would not be surprised if the judges give the same score to Esquibel, however.
