UFC Fight Night 141: "Blaydes vs Ngannou 2", Fights pass "Prelims": map preview – Pt. 2

[ad_1]

Heavyweights take center stage in the Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China this Saturday (November 24, 2018), while the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Fight Pass for an early morning show . Curtis Blaydes will try to avenge his only career loss against Francis Ngannou in the main competition of UFC Fight Night 141, while the co-principal sees the venerable Alistair Overeem face one of Sergey's best russians Pavlovich. Viewers will also have the chance to see Yan Xiaonan and Song Yadong in the foreground.

But first of all, let's take a look and say the four most important fights of the prelims (see the first batch here):

205 lbs: Rashad Coulter against. Hu Yaozong

Rashad Coulter (8-4) has not yet tasted victory in the Octagon, but he certainly gave it to his fans at least in his three fights at the UFC. After signing "Fight of the Night" in his crazy debut against Chase Sherman, "Daywalker" succumbed to Tai Tuivasa's knee and started strong against Chris de la Rocha before becoming the victim of the land and the book.

His eight wins are by knockout, six of them in the first round.

Hu Yaozong (3-1) became the first Chinese Heavyweight to step into the Octagon when he debuted against Cyril Asker last year. Unfortunately, "Bad Boy" did not get an answer for the Frenchman and escaped the second round.

He is four inches taller than Coulter, but will give up as many inches of reach.

All in all, Coulter is really not such a bad fighter. He has fast hands for a heavyweight, a heart for days and a chin that has put an Australian flying 265 pounds to crack. His cardio is just not there, unfortunately.

Hopefully losing a few dozen pounds will pay dividends in this area.

Hu is about to lose probably the worst heavyweight in the lineup at Asker and has a fraction of Coulter's experience. Even if "Daywalker" shows no improvement, he should be fine as long as he reaches the scales without problems. Coulter overwhelms him with speed and power before finally entering the UFC victories column.

Prediction: Coulter via KO in the first round

115 lbs: Jessica Aguilar against. Zhang Weili

Formerly Queen of the Strawweight division, Jessica Aguilar (20-6) had mixed success at UFC (1-2). After consecutive defeats against Cláudia Gadelha and Cortney Casey, "Jag" entered the winning column in July with a decision on fellow Jodie Esquibel.

Before joining the Octagon, she had won 10 straight victories, including two wins over the defensible Strawweight G.O.A.T. Megumi Fujii.

Zhang Weili (17-1) has established himself as China's best fighter with 16 consecutive wins, all but one inside two rounds. In her early days in Octagon, she hired veteran Danielle Taylor and made a unanimous decision.

She knocked out nine opponents and submitted six more.

Now, it's a cross fight. There was a time when Aguilar was the best in the world, while Zhang was unleashed since the loss of his debut. In addition, "Jag" will be the best wrestler Zhang has faced so far, which means that it is certainly possible that she plays the role of spoiler.

Not big, unfortunately.

Zhang thinks she has a considerable advantage in hitting and has proved that she is capable of causing significant damage to the inside, which means that every shot taken by Aguilar will be fraught with difficulties. Even worse, Aguilar's fight was irregular during his Octagon tenure and Zhang strikes too hard to allow mistakes. Zhang passes 2-0 to the UFC, passing Aguilar at close range and hitting hard inside as the latter tries to force the withdrawal.

Prediction: Zhang via unanimous decision

125 lbs: Wu Yanan against Lauren Mueller

Wu Yanan (8-2) rebounded after losing to Yana Kunitskaya with two consecutive wins before making his Octagon debut. She hired grappling specialist Gina Mazany, who defeated her by unanimous decision and incited her to lose 125 pounds.

It will be his first fight in 355 days.

Barely four fights in his professional career, Mueller defeated Kelly McGill-Velasco in "Contender Series" to attract the attention of Dana White. She debuted eight months later against Shana Dobson, a veteran of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), winning a competitive decision at Glendale.

It will yield three inches in height to "Mulan".

Wu should have an easier time with 125 pounds, but that's not enough to make up for his non-takedown defense. Gina Mazany shot him five times, and the opponents who witnessed the fight or Kunitskaya began to stomp on this weakness.

Mueller has the tools to do it.

"Princess" can follow Wu in a slugging match and has the opportunity to take him south whenever things get hairy. She secured a second consecutive victory at the UFC.

Prediction: Mueller via a unanimous decision

170 lbs: Song Kenan vs. Alex Morono

Song Kenan began his career in the Octagon with a 15-second Bobby Nash collage during his Octagon debut, defying two chances to do so. He returned to action seven months later, arresting Hector Aldana, a veteran of "Latin America," late in the second round.

He knocked out and submitted six opponents each.

Alex Morono (14-5) was undefeated in his first three appearances in Octagon, knocking out Kyle Noke and James Moontasri before heading to a "no contest contest" against Niko Price. He has since scored a double, a guillotine finish Josh Burkman between the defeats against Keita Nakamura and Jordan Mein.

"The Great White" is an inch shorter than Song, but will have an inch of reach on him.

Morono has definitely made the weight when I denounced it, but if you count the Price knockout and correct the judgment against Noke, it is essentially at 2-4 in the Octagon. Although his fight is legitimate, his lack of struggle and his unjust strikes relegate him to the rank of "combatant".

Sure, Song may be in the same category, but it's the sharpest kickboxer of both, and it's durable enough to withstand Morono's attacks. The real question is how does he handle Morono's jiu-jitsu, his scrapping defense being a bit fragile. Morono is more than happy to let go of him, however, and that probably amounts to biting him, while Song betrays him for a decision.

Prediction: Singing via unanimous decision
