Dana White and the UFC have denied Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz fight for a new belt at the UFC 230 in November.

The lightweight contenders announced on their Twitters would be competing for the 165-pound strap, which would launch a new division in the UFC.

"I am pleased to announce that I am bringing a new weight division to the UFC," said Diaz. "I'm going to fight the main event on Nov. 3 in New York against Dustin Poirier for the all-time super-fighter division of the 165-pound belt. I'm happy to be out of the story. "

A title fight of 165 pounds would surely have UFC 230 title at Madison Square Garden, which currently has no major event.

Poirier and Diaz should already be fighting at UFC 230, but it looks like both teams are doing their best for a serious upgrade.

But the UFC denied a fight for the title of 165 pounds, and the claims of Poirier and Diaz whitened whites.

White insisted that he was still working on the main UFC 230 event, with reports claiming that the UFC president was considering adding an interim fight to dominate the map.

The UFC has had trouble adding a main event to the UFC 230, with schedules and injuries that have knocked out all current champions.

Tyron Woodley and Daniel Cormier are injured while many other champions are registered on other dates or unable to fight until 2019.

Rumor has it that the return of Jon Jones could make the UFC 230 front page in his hometown, but White has already rejected that suggestion.

Jones is free to fight again in October after accepting a 30-month suspension that was reduced to 15 months when the fighter agreed to provide "substantial credible assistance" to Usada in other anti-doping investigations.
