Expect to see more United Boeing 787 Dreamliners on Newark Liberty's international routes next summer.

This is according to the specialized publication FlightGlobal.com, reporting that United plans to deploy 787s on "six international routes from the Atlantic" from Newark – presumably to European destinations – once the carrier's 2019 summer schedule begins March 31st .

United revealed the plans in an internal letter to the pilots, according to FlightGlobal. The letter did not say which roads would receive the Dreamliners but indicated that a 787 pilot base in Newark would have 160 pilots, including 55 captains and 105 first officers.

FlightGlobal notes that United is making the move "in anticipation of the introduction of its latest Dreamliner variant," the 787-10 which is the largest version of the jet manufactured by Boeing.

United is expected to get its first 787-10 from the Boeing South Carolina assembly line later this year. The carrier has placed firm orders for 14 "stretched" versions of the Dreamliner and is expected to have three of its fleet by the end of 2018.

Although larger than the Dreamliner versions -9 and -8, the maximum flight range of -10 is shorter. This makes it a good choice for medium-high density highways, including many transatlantic routes. United flies from Newark.

FlightGlobal has already announced that the United 787-10 will be configured with 318 seats, including 41 seats in business class "Polaris", 21 in a premium economic section of international style and 253 coach. Of the coach seats, 45 will be additional leg seats.

United has not yet said where it planned to found or fly its 787-10. The carrier already operates about 36 other 787 models, a mixture of the smaller 787-8 and 787-9 models.

United currently has 787 pilot bases in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington Dulles and Houston Bush Intercontinental.
