DENVER – The evening was painful for passengers at Denver International Airport, especially for those arriving by a flight from Tucson.

The United 1941 flight partially slipped from the taxiway at around 6:40 am on Saturday night.

"The landing was … a bit bumpy," said Christina Morgan, who was trying to catch a connecting flight to Columbus. "When the taxiing started and the pilot started to turn, it was like you were losing control of your car."

Ms. Morgan stated that the aircraft had started spinning in a fishtail and that part had been immobilized on the grass.

"I was on the side of the plane where we could see the runway," she said. "I saw all the emergency vehicles arrive. A passenger on the other side of the plane told me that she had only seen grass. "

"We were a little skewed," Denise Ferens said. "It was a little weird at first. We did not know we were in the grass, then I looked out the window … and I saw that the engine was right over the grass. "

An airline official said there were 85 passengers and six crew members on board.

"No injuries have been reported," a spokesman for the airline said in Denver. "We transported the passengers from the plane to the airport terminal. We apologized to our customers for this problem. "

After being bused to the terminal, some passengers stated that they had to wait several hours to retrieve their luggage.

"They had to take the plane to the hangar," said Mrs. Ferens, "then took the luggage from the plane and bring it here."

Delayed flights

Several other flights were delayed due to weather conditions. The departing aircraft had to be de-iced. This created a frustrating wait for passengers trying to return home for Thanksgiving.

Some said that they were going to miss matches because of the weather in Denver.
