After a particularly deadly flu season, doctors urge everyone to get the flu shot. A local organization offers * free * flu shots to those who qualify.

Adams County United Way runs a free flu clinic on Friday, October 5 from 10 am to 2 pm at their office located at 936 Broadway, Suite F for people of at least 18 years old.

Adam Duesterhaus, director of communications at United Way of Adams County, addresses people without health insurance and underinsured. He added that people with insurance can still receive a vaccine and will bill your insurance company.

"This event works in tandem with the investments we have already invested in. We invest in many areas of health. It just shows that when people are healthy, we can create a better community, "said Duesterhaus.

United Way partners with FamilyWize and Walgreens, the Department of Health and Social Services for the event.

"One thing we do not know is how bad the flu season is going to be, it can be very unpredictable, so it's very important to get vaccinated as early as possible every year," he said. said pharmacist Walgreen AJ Smith.
