The week of rivalry can be an unexpected moment. But as the 13th week of the university football season has largely shown, a lot of that happened to be what was expected.
Ohio State beat Michigan … again. Alabama beat Auburn … again. Washington beat Washington State … again. Virginia Tech beat Virginia … again. And – well, you get the point. All of the rival matches did not end predictably – Florida State ended several defeats against Florida State – but the 13th week taught us that it's more difficult to cross this proverbial hill than it is. it does not appear there.
It just means that for the playoff race in college football there is a bit of clarity now – at least more clarity than ever before. #Teamchaos still has an opportunity to make an appearance, but we already know that one team, Notre Dame, will be one of four teams selected. We can reasonably infer that the SEC will have a team, perhaps two, depending on the evolution of the events. We can predict that the debate between Oklahoma and Ohio State will be exhausting, and perhaps even useless.
But that's the life of college football in November. With the last week of the regular season in the books, it's time to take stock of the big winners and losers of a very busy Thanksgiving weekend.

West Virginia: The Mountaineers did not quite have the answer for Oklahoma in a Defeat 59-56 Friday night, who sent the Sooners to the Big 12 Championship Game. It's a bitter pill for West Virginia to swallow, which ends the regular season 8-3. If coach Dana Holgorsen wanted to bring a team to Arlington, that was it. And yet, the Mountaineers gave up 31 points to Oklahoma State in the second half of a 45-41 loss, Week 12, and had no answers for the Sooners. State of Michigan: Ladies and gentlemen, your special team is almost too painful to watch the day. Fortunately the Spartans beat Rutgers 14-10, otherwise it would have been the least of their embarrassment.
UConn: The Huskies broke the season's record in points awarded by FBS (605) and yards awarded (7,409) after losing 57-7 to Temple in the season finale. The previous FBS record for most points awarded was set by East Carolina in 2010 (572). So how exactly did UConn manage the realization?
