From the second day of games of the Ryder Cup with a deficit of 3 to 5, the United States still have work to do with eight points to win Saturday at Golf National.

Europe needs 14 1/2 points to regain the Ryder Cup after sweeping all four games on Friday.

USA under pressure

All eyes are on Tiger Woods, Patrick Reed, Justin Thomas and Jordan Speith, with Americans needing points to stay in the game.

Reed makes his first "shush" of the crowd after his ninth birdie to halve the hole. Reed and Woods are one shot behind Tommy Fleetwood and Francesco Molinari.

Thomas and Spieth are all against Ian Poulter and Jon Rahm in eight.

The other two matches (Finau-Koepka and Johnson-Fowler) seem too distant for Team USA.

First tiger birdie putt

Woods eventually achieves his first birdie of the day, a long putt on the seventh of the normal 4, and tries to get the departure of his partner Patrick Reed. They are now by one to Fleetwood and Molinari. Reed can not hit a fairway to save his life.

Do not stop Rory

The Europeans have all the momentum and Rory McIlroy took control of the first game. He won three holes and, with Sergio Garcia, took a 4-shot lead over Tony Finau and Brooks Koepka by nine.

Casey on fire

Paul Casey makes four birdies in his first five holes as he returns to the Ryder Cup for the first time since 2008. The Englishman was one of Thomas Bjorn's captain's picks. Casey and Tyrrell Hatton are 1 against Dustin Johnson and Rickie Fowler while the Euros have dominated four balls so far.

Make five birdies in six holes for Casey and now 2 up.

Finau comes out of the bunker

Tony Finau, competing in his first Ryder Cup, comes out of a fifth bunker and celebrates with a big hand pump. But then Rory McIlroy matches him with a long birdie putt. The Euros remain 2 in match 1 and lead three of the four matches.

The horrible beginning of the DJ

Things are not going well for Dustin Johnson, who found water on the first two holes. On the first hole, his tee shot went to the water's edge and he burst before his third dropped into the water. The Americans were already in trouble as Rickie Fowler's tee shot had also landed in the drink. They conceded the hole to Paul Casey and Tyrrell Hatton without putt.

At the second hole, DJ finds water, but Fowler passes the par 3 to bring the game back to a tie. Will show that even the world's number 1 is not immune to the pressure of the Ryder Cup.
