UPS will hire 100,000 seasonal workers, up 5,000 from last year

On Monday, she plans to hire about 100,000 seasonal employees for the holiday season, up from 95,000 a year ago. Seasonal hires will be mainly handlers, drivers and driving aids. In the last three years, 35% of the hired handlers, who started in November and continued through January, were hired into permanent positions. The UPS announcement comes after XPO Logistics Inc.
