COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio football coach Urban Meyer looked sentimental when he resumed his coaching duties Saturday after escaping a three-game suspension. He had hugs and handshakes for his players as they entered the locker room before their match against Tulane.

They came after fans of the Ohio State welcomed two ovations from Meyer when he spoke briefly during the traditional session Skull Session, which is the Buckeyes version of a concert and rally concert. A couple of fans wore Urban Meyer T-shirts, one of them saying "Urban Legends Do not Die."

While Meyer's return was very emotional for the No. 4 Buckeyes, starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins showed a spirit of hard work as he rushed for 304 yards and five touchdowns – all in the first half. stimulate the Buckeyes (4-0). triumph against the green wave.

He scored 14 goals against Parris Campbell, 17 yards against Terry McLaurin, 37 yards against Campbell, 31 yards against Binjimen Victor and 14 yards against Austin Mack.

Meyer, 52, was suspended for mismanaging allegations of spousal abuse against former assistant coach Zach Smith who was fired in July. Meyer allowed his actions to be dictated by the police investigation, and now admits that he should have asked more questions.

Meyer said earlier this week that he could not "watch" the Buckeyes on television while he was suspended. "I only watched the good games," he said.

But Meyer had no reason to look in the game against Tulane, three different receivers having scored at least one touchdown. The Buckeyes have been effective in the running and passing game.

Perhaps lost in the Meyer saga was the domination of the early Ohio team. The Buckeyes have an average of nearly 53 points per game and have not scored less than 40 points. Haskins made 16 assists in his first four starts as a college quarterback.

In the past two weeks, Meyer has been allowed to practice. The only aspect of the Ohio State game that seemed out of sync with Meyer's return was the concentration on the field. They had to raise the extra points twice because of penalties. They were called for eight penalties for 69 yards in the first period.

The Buckeyes played the match without bag leader Nick Bosa who came out with a basic muscle injury.
