Usain Bolt marked his first start for the Central Coast Mariners (A-League) with two goals against Macarthur South West in a pre-season friendly match.
Bolt, the 100-meter world record holder and eight-time Olympic gold medal winner, took part in the August trials on the Central Coast to win a contract.
He scored his first goal in the 57th minute, scoring 3-0 on Central Coast with a powerful left foot shot. And his second goal came in the 68th minute when Bolt capitalized on a defensive mistake to get the ball home. He was then replaced in the 75th minute.
"My first start and scoring two goals is a good feeling," said Bolt after the match. "I am happy to be able to come here and show the world that I am improving, I am eager to be a sailor, to do my best and to be part of the team."
