USDA: Bob Evans Farms recalls 47,000 pounds of sausages

Bob Evans Farms is recalling some raw pork sausage products due to possible contamination.

According to the Food Safety and Inspection Department of the US Department of Agriculture, the company recalls nearly 47,000 pounds of sausages after determining they could contain pieces of "hard-transparent plastic." The agency said in a statement that Bob Evans Farms had received consumer complaints about the plastic of his pork sausages. Until now, no adverse reaction due to the consumption of these products has been reported.

In a statement, the USDA said the products concerned were bearing the EST ESTATE number 6785. The products listed below are believed to have been shipped to several states: Indiana, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. • 12 oz Overpack Trays labeled Fresh From Meijer. Maple Flavored Sausage Links. They have a deadline of consumption of September 6, 2018.
• 12 oz Overpack Trays Tagged Maple Giant Maple and Giant Breakfast Pork Ties Added caramel color. They have a deadline of consumption of September 10, 2018.
• 12 oz overpack trays labeled breakfast sausage with maple recipe Schnucks. They do not have an expiry date.
