Utah scored 28 consecutive points after falling 7-3 in the first quarter. Covey sent a 7-yard touchdown pass to tight back Cole Fotheringham with a setback to put the score at 10-7 midway through the second quarter, and Moss made a 1-yard touchdown in the second and third quarters.

Shyne's touchdown scored 31-7 after Julian Blackmon had a Speight pass, which started for the first time since his early-season back injury against Cincinnati.

Kelley had a 25-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter in the first quarter to give UCLA a quick lead, but the Bruins' defense could not control the quick attack on Moss and Utah.
